the victims-all loud on the western front

this is a compilation of all the material recorded by the victims, all of which i believe was recorded in 1978. the songs were found on the television addict single, and a self titled e.p. and it also has a few unreleased tracks. its really catchy poppy punk, really well written songs and good sound quality given when it was recorded.

this discography was released a few years back on timberyard records, i think with the permission of the drummer, james baker. the guitarist, dave faulkner (who went on to be in the hoodoo gurus after the demise of the victims) did not okay this and upon hearing of its release got it pulled off the shelf. this may have to do with some ongoing ole fashin' feudin' between the two.

Thanks so much for this. I previously had a vinyl rip of this, and both the single and the EP are on the Murder Punk compilations. Sounds as if the single is still mastered from vinyl though.

This link explains The Victims' backstory from many angles, esp. Ross Buncle's, who co-wrote several of The Victims' (and The Scientists') tracks with drummer/lyricist James Baker (Victims, Scientists, Hoodoo Gurus, Beasts of Bourbon). Invaluable first person history of the Perth scene:
